we had such a fun halloween this year! everett got a package from mima and papa with a cute card and lots of yummy halloween candy which he obviously enjoyed! we made homemade donuts, grandma hazel's recipe, which i might share someday if i ever get my food blog up and running... but anyway we totally perfected them this year. we did some glazed, then my mom made maple and chocolate frosting that were unbelievable! of course she made up the recipes for each, she's so talented! then we had our tradition of chili and homemade breadsticks and went trick or treating (dressed as woody, jessie, and buzz lightyear from Toy Story) with our friend rachael! everett didn't really understand what to do, but it was adorable anyway. he would pick a candy from the bowl and then try to eat it right away through the wrapper haha. he got a pretty good haul for a 1 year old! we came home, put the babe to bed, and watched...... gilmore girls! we, like everyone else, are obsessed and are on season 6! what a perfect halloween!

1st haircut
the day before e's 1st birthday, i took him to get his hair trimmed at cookie cutters. they specialize in cutting little kids hair. they had mickey mouse clubhouse on right in front of him, a toy bucket, and one of the stylists played with him the whole time. and the chair they get to sit in is a car, so cute! he did great and didn't cry at all!
after! handsome boy
pumpkin patch
at the beginning of october, we went to the wheeler farm pumpkin patch with ashley+johnny+millie, kerry+cedar and tayler+remy. it was so fun walking around seeing the animals, going through the maze, and looking at the pumpkins! we didn't get a chance to pick our pumpkins to take home though, it started pouring rain and we had to wait it out in a barn for a while. it was still a blast!
i didn't know 3 carseats fit in the back of my jeep! they were so cute to play with each other back there until everett threw his bottle at millie.... sorry millie!
october
october went too fast, but then i guess that's how is goes every year. it was unseasonably warm this year and we took full advantage of it! everett loved playing at the park with his cousins finn, penny and ari. he even went down the slide all by himself and didn't want any help to climb up to do it again.
we also had lots of play dates with our friend luke and his mommy morgan. these 2 littles are basically fraternal twins, born a month apart from different moms. haha. they are so alike and love to play together!
currently everett's favorite word is 'da-da' and he will only say 'mama' when i'm gone and he is looking for me. he also loves to bark at our dog bella, it's pretty hilarious to hear them talking to each other. e is not walking yet, he does things when he wants to and is so proficient at crawling that he doesn't see the need to try to walk.he does, however, stand and will walk if you're holding his hands, walks around furniture and with his walker.
see what i mean by twins??
these two crack me up!

ONE
my baby is one. i had a hard time processing that fact for the weeks leading up to his birthday... i might have cried a few times in disbelief that a whole year had passed by since his birth. at 12:15 am on september 26th, i went into e's room where he was soundly sleeping. he looked like a long lanky giant toddler, a little boy, and i cried again. where did my baby go? maybe it's a mom thing... maybe it's a me thing? but after all the crying, i focused on all the positive. i have a happy healthy gorgeous boy who is the light of every day. i have had the most incredible year of my life learning how to be a mom. lots of ups, lots of downs. countless sleepless nights, blowouts, giggles, messes, babbles, playing. i've never learned so much in such a short period of time. i love my angel boy more than anything.
we had an awesome party with friends and family. it was a 'tiny' theme. tiny invitations, food, drinks, cupcakes, and a bounce house all to celebrate our tiny boy.

(i had to crop out my phone number, sorry this is an ugly picture but you get the idea!)
the rain stopped for the duration of the party, tiny miracle. and we had a double rainbow!
